Registration

  • How do I switch to 8k Training Team?  
    • Before October 4:  Sign into your RunSignup Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration (next to the event) > Transfer to Another Race (Make sure to pick Transfer to ANOTHER RACE, not Transfer Event) > Follow Prompts to Transfer to “2022 Sports Backers 8k Training Team”.  
    • After October 4:  Email [email protected] with the following information:
      • Training Location
      • Level you would like to train (Novice or Intermediate, based on miles not speed).
      • Unisex t-shirt size (XS – XXL).
      • Estimated finish time for the 8k.
  • What if I want train with HMTT, but participate in an Virtual Event or 8k on race day?  Sign into RunSignup Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration (next to the event) > Transfer Event (Make sure to click Transfer EVENT not Transfer to Another Race) > Start Transfer > Choose “SB HMTT – 8k”, ““SB HMTT – Virtual Half Marathon”, or “SB HMTT – Virtual 8k”.
  • How do I add packet mailing, Run Richmond Premium Package, etc.? Sign into RunSignup Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration (next to the event) > Add-On > Edit Quantity > Continue
    • Bib & Shirt Mailing: $30 per person through September 15. $40 per person September 16 – October 31. No packet mailing will be offered after October 31.
    • Race Day Packet Pick Up: $40 per person. Must be purchased in advance.
    • Run Richmond Premium Package: $220 per person, $80 for companion passes (non-registered participants only)

Race Day

  • Where can I pick up my packet? Packet pick-up will take place during the Health & Fitness Expo. More Expo details can be found here.
  • I can’t make the Expo, how can get a get my packet?
    • Someone else can pick up your packet. They either need a copy of your Registration QR Code or Photo ID.
    • Bib & Shirt Mailing: $30 per person through September 15. $40 per person September 16 – October 31. Can’t be added after October 31. See above for instructions on how to add.
    • Race Day Packet Pick Up: $40 per person. Must be purchased in advance. See above for instructions on how to add.
  • Are there pacers? Yes, the Richmond Road Runners Club is proud to offer Pace Teams for the CarMax Richmond Half Marathon. Use our online registration form to register for Pace Teams here. Once you complete the form, you will receive an email confirmation. Or visit the Richmond Road Runners Club booth at the Race Expo for details! Need more information, please reach out to Pace Team Coordinator Karen McCarthy or visit our website.
  • Are the course maps posted online?  Yes, the maps and course information can be found on our here.
  • Where can I park on race morning?  We have a list of parking lots on our website.

  • Do you sell merchandise? Of course, visit the Sports Backers store!
  • Who is the official Event Charity? Our official event charity is Kids Run RVA. Sports Backers created Kids Run RVA to make running and active living fun and accessible to kids throughout our region. Kids Run RVA provides free training opportunities for youth of all ages, abilities and backgrounds and teaches kids that physical activity can be fun and rewarding. For schools in low income communities, Kids Run RVA can cover the cost of shoes, team t-shirts, transportation, and event entries so that ALL kids can participate. Donations are critical to the program’s success. Each time a child laces up his or her shoes, your donation will be giving them the most important gift of all – a path to good health and fitness!
